We are pleased to invite you to the next ISCES webinar, “Decarbonizing the Built Environment through Heritage” featuring speakers Lori Ferriss and Billie Faircloth.
The webinar will explore how cultural heritage can contribute to climate action in the building sector through both technical practice and policy development.
Drawing on the Decarbonizing the Built Environment through Heritage (DBTH) Toolkit, the session will examine how heritage-informed approaches to the care, adaptation, reuse, and stewardship of existing buildings can support emissions reductions, climate resilience, and community well-being.
The speakers will present examples from around the world demonstrating how heritage knowledge, practices, and places can advance decarbonization. The session will also consider how these solutions can be more effectively recognized, incorporated, and scaled through climate and built-environment policies.

On 26 November 2025, we proudly hosted the first in a series of upcoming information sessions dedicated to the development of the new KnowledgeHub. The event marked an exciting milestone, offering participants a first look at the initiative while also introducing the new ISCES Board and presenting the forward-looking FuturHist Project.
The session began with a warm welcome from Franziska Haas. Daniel Herrera then explored the vision behind the FuturHist project, setting the tone for the innovative spirit of the event. This was followed by an inspiring introduction to Spara og Bevara by Tor Broström. The highlight of the session was the presentation of the KnowledgeHub by Philipp Hesse, who outlined its mission, future activities, and the value it will bring to the ISCES community. The event concluded with an open discussion, inviting participants to share ideas and perspectives that will help shape the journey ahead.
